Marching Band
The Marching Seminole Band upholds a long tradition of excellence here at Southeast. It is comprised of the Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Color Guard and the Nolettes! Its members perform for thousands of spectators each year and provide the "spear-it" for our SEHS sports teams. Marching Seminoles are required to attend summer band camp and after school rehearsals during the fall. There are membership dues associated with the ensemble, and the band travels regularly to away football games, parades, competitions and educational field trips.
Drumline
The Heartbeat of the Marching Seminole Band. The SEHSDL lends precision and power to the presentation of our music. They have an immense repertoire of cadences, stands beats, and exercise programs, and play cutting edge vocabulary on the field. Always first to get there and last to leave, The Line works hard to be perfectly synchronized. Auditions for this ensemble take place in May, and the group rehearses through the summer months into band camp. All musicians are encouraged to participate - it is not uncommon for double reed players and pianists to perform in the front ensemble, playing mallet instruments, electric bass and guitar, drumset and electronics.
Color Guard
The Marching Seminole Color Guard adds dimension, color and beauty to our shows, and helps us tell the story by bringing the music to life. The members learn technical drills that allow them to perform on Flags of various sizes and shapes, Rifles, Sabres, Airblades and props. Training is a large part of the daily routine for this group, so previous experience is not required just a desire to express yourself through pageantry, dance and color!
Nolettes
Southeast High School’s Dance team, The Nolettes, add class and style to football Friday nights. They have a competition schedule that keeps them busy and dancing throughout the spring semester as well. They are part of the SEHS Marching 'Noles family and add performances at basketball and football halftimes to their season. The team rehearses with the band and in sectionals and studies with dance clinicians from around the nation. Their performances are integrated with the Color Guard adding dramatic pageantry to the halftime shows.
The Marching 'Noles were the first band to step off at the Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios in Orlando on December 4, 2010!
