Southeast High School Concert Bands

Hello and Thank You for your interest in our program.  The concert bands have been set up to allow every musician at every level an opportunity to play and perform music that is appropriate for their growth and measured development – the goal being to prepare all SEHS music students for a successful college and perhaps professional career.  At the very least, a chance to gain the skills necessary to earn college scholarships and pursue my first love – MUSIC.

Wind Ensemble:  The Southeast Wind Ensemble will be a group of approximately 45 wind and percussion players that play literature written specifically for that medium.  This college/professional style group rehearses mainly during the class day with a few extra-curricular rehearsals as District Assessment and concerts approach.  See the schedule below for a complete listing of those additional rehearsal days/times.  This group will play music that fulfills our requirement for ensemble I as a Class BB school for the Florida Bandmaster's Association.  Stage performance and Sight-Reading are required.

Symphonic Band:  The Southeast Symphonic Band will be a group of undetermined number comprised of EVERY student from period 3 and several other SEHS band students, many of which will perform on their secondary instrument.  There will be one (1) after school rehearsal for the Symphonic Band.  This group will play music that fulfills our requirement for ensemble II as a Class BB school for the Florida Bandmaster's Association.  Stage performance and Sight -Reading are required.

Nov. 21^st - SEHS Band Day at the Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch 10-2pm.

December 10^th, 2009              Symphonic Band Rehearsal.   2:30 - 4:30 pm.

December 15^th - SEHS Bands Winter Concert 7pm.

February 16^th, 2010                    Wind Ensemble Rehearsal.        3:00 - 7:00 pm.

February 23^rd, 2010                    Wind Ensemble Rehearsal.        3:00 - 7:00 pm.

 March 1^st, 2010                            Wind Ensemble Rehearsal.     3:00 - 7:00 pm.

March 2^nd - SEHS Bands Pre-District Festival Concert 7pm.

March 3^rd, 2010                            Wind Ensemble Rehearsal.     3:00 - 4:00 pm.

March 4^th, 2010                            Wind Ensemble Rehearsal.     3:00 - 4:00 pm.

March 5-6          FBA District Music Performance Assessment
